REAL WORLD RESULTS
I initially visited in 2013 in order to loose some weight and to improve my running. Not only did I loose around 10kg relatively quickly, but my muscle to weight ratio increased which in turn translated into far better performance on the road. Additionally, I have managed to keep my weight down and continue to deliver far quicker times than I ever though were previously possible.
Dear Karin, Thank you very much for your help and professional advice on my nutrition over the past 5 months. I have the great privilege to state the following about Ms Karin Paquay : 1. Before I met Karin , I had already been a South African senior rowing champion and record holder , had acquired Protea colours for Sanshou ( the fighting aspect of Chinese Wushu also called Kung Fu fighting ) in 2005 when I had won the South African 70 kg Women’s title , and had represented South Africa internationally in that sport . I had also already represented Central Gauteng in kickboxing at the 2006 South African championships and had won many mountain bike titles over a period of approximately 15 years . Nutrition had always been an important aspect of my preparation and I had thought that I knew what to eat and drink to perform at my optimal level. 2. In February 2011 I started my recurve archery career . I quickly realised that the sport required a very strong mental state but did not involve much cardio-vascular exercise . As a matter of fact it is reasonably successfully played in South Africa by many over-weight archers . But from my previous sport experience I knew that I could only perform at my optimal mental level if my body was well-nourished and conditioned . I then enquired about nutritionists, and I was introduced to Karin by my twin sister who was already one of her clients. 3. Karin is a vivacious, friendly , caring , highly successful professional who is totally dedicated to achieving the best results for each of her clients and clearly enjoys her work very much . She keeps abreast of the most recent developments in her field of practice. She continuously analises the progress of her clients and adjusts their nutritional plans where she deems it necessary . After just a few weeks on the nutritional plan that Karin had designed for me, I lost 4 kilograms in weight but gained strength and stamina like never before in my sport career. With that , my mental state improved significantly. Within eight months I broke the senior women’s African Continental recurve archery record in the Olympic competition format at 70 metres . I performed so well so consistently that I was awarded Protea colours during that season (2014). I have represented South Africa in several international competitions since then and am still improving . I can never thank her enough! Sandra Prinsloo. Roodepoort, South Africa .
I have always been relatively active and when I became interested in road cycling three years ago, I enlisted Karins help in order to maximise results from the valuable time put in. Karins nutritional and hydrational advice has been essential in establishing a normal, pre-race, race and recovery routine all contributing to continual improved performances. Three years later and her suggestions and tweaks are still adding value. How I look after my body has effortlessly become second nature and created a sense of good health and self-gratification. It has also gradually had the positive spin off on the rest of my family who are now also showing more interest in their health. Thank you Karin for opening my eyes as to what good nutrition can do for you.
After only just completing my first Iron Man 70.3 Durban in August 2015 weighing in at 70kg’s, with a height of 164cm (built for comfort not for speed….) in a time of 07:47 and some change. A few things happened without me being aware of it….
1) The bug bit and it bit hard, I was hooked
2) I needed to plan the next triathlon
I decided to enter an Olympic distance and that was where things got serious, I didn’t manage to complete it and realised that I needed to put in some serious effort on many different levels.
Enter Karin Paquay
Karin was referred to me, and without hesitation I set up an appointment and had myself poked, prodded jabbed and weighed (fairly humiliating I must say). In short I was overweight, had way too much percentage fat and needed some serious leaning and trimming.
Eleven months later I’m weighing in at 58kg’s, I am lean and just completed Iron Man 70.3 Durban in 06:08. Karin helped me to see taking control of my physique not as a diet but rather as a “lifestyle”. Rather than dread my check-ups with Karin I look forward to them, it has been a hugely satisfying journey progressing from overweight, middle aged fat man to being a lean “athlete”.
Go on take that first step towards a new improved you! You will feel healthier, stronger and generally better, you and all those close to you will be amazed and your transformation.

At a discovery vitality assessment day I was warned that I have high cholesterol. I visited a doctor and was told to take medication for cholesterol. I was not keen on medication. I also started cycling around the same time. I heard about Karin from a friend of mine and immediately made an appointment to see her. That visit changed my mind on how I think about food. I have always been an active, sporty kind of person and always been on some kind of a diet, and yet during my visit to Karin I discovered that I was in pretty bad shape on the health side, overweight, high body fat percentage, constant heartburn and of course high cholesterol. Karin in her usual energetic way told me not to despair, there is something that can be done! Fast forward two years, and I am proud to say that I lost a lot of weight, got my body fat percentage down, have my cholesterol down to normal levels (no medication) and don’t suffer for heartburn anymore. My cycling has also benefitted in many ways, faster on the hills and lighter on the bike equals great riding!
Karin’s approach to eating was nothing short of fantastic and resulted in me losing 14kg’s in 9 weeks. This helped take my cycling from finishing in the second bunch to winning my age group at 2016 SA Road Champs.
When my husband Dean told me that he wanted to get healthier and eat properly, I told him to follow the basics and will be ok. However, he booked an appointment with Karen Paquet and I had a little FOMO being a girl and all and decided to go on this adventure with him. Our first visit with Karen was an eye opener, as my little eating for my amount of sport I did and my picking on my kids food here and there when I was hungry was not really the way. I realized that when I got my first assessment done. From then both my husband and I have lost a fortune of weight, cm’s and fat percentage, and we are feeling great in so many ways. We started with Karen a few months prior to our first Half Iron-Man, and we did really well in this as my husband was a lot lighter on his feet, Myself included. I was faster and healthier and very much well guided on my nutrition intake – where I was usually bad. Since then we have done many more triathlons and our whole family follow the guidelines of Karen including my kids. She has changed our lives and we are truly thankful for this. My husband has lost 10kg and I cannot even remember the exact fat percentage but it is a lot, and as for me I have lost 5kg and dropped my fat percentage from 25% to 13%. Karen has guided us and shown us a lifestyle that we now thoroughly enjoy and our bodies have changed so much. We are full of life, energy and enthusiasm and we are able to select healthy options to eat, not because we have to, but because we want to. Thank you Karen, we really appreciate the change you have made for us and the guidance you have given.

My name is Emma Tarr and I am a competitive swimmer.
I first came to see Karin when I was 13 years old.
Karin helped me to understand the importance of eating correctly in order to be able
to perform at my very best.
Over the months, I started to train better, have more energy and better endurance.
Karin showed me how to prepare my body for high level racing.
I then started to race even better. I continued to do many personal bests when I ate correctly.
When I met Karin I was making finals at Level 3 National Level.
At age 14 I have medalled at level 3 nationals and made several finals.
I qualified for South African Nationals and Olympic trials 2016 and have several youth times as well as 2 senior national times.
